Is Modern Warfare 4 included with Game Pass at launch?

Modern Warfare 4 will require a separate purchase at its scheduled October 23, 2026 launch. It will not be included with Game Pass until Holiday 2027.

A Game Pass subscription alone does not establish ownership of MW4. Access to other Call of Duty games through the subscription does not grant MW4 entitlement.

Xbox multiplayer and cloud play requirements

The Xbox listing requires a separately sold Game Pass Essential subscription for online multiplayer. This subscription requirement is separate from purchasing the game.

Cloud play is listed with Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate, but a game purchase is still required. Cloud support does not mean MW4 is included in the subscription catalog at launch.

How to check whether you already own MW4

Check the original storefront account and purchase record to establish whether you bought MW4. A subscription tile, an older Call of Duty installation or a completed download does not independently prove a purchase.

1. Check the account and purchase record on the storefront where you obtained the game.
2. If you already have an MW4 purchase receipt, preserve it.
3. Ask support to inspect the exact account and storefront entitlement before purchasing another copy.
